I'm hoping there are some other event-goers in Edmonton who would like to band together as a training team. If so, send me a message or if there is already a group out there, please let me know and count me in!
There are a bunch of riders in the Edmonton area that you could hook up with for training. I'm more on the mtb side of things, but I'm still hitting the trails to try to keep my legs going during the white season.
I know that RVC is doing spin classes with Lori-Ann Munser on Monday and Wednesday nights, if that sort of thing tickles your fancy.
Once we lose the white stuff, I'm sure there will be plenty of folks out training for the ride....just post up and see who's riding ;)
Newbie, You're welcome to join the "In Memory of - The Solo Riders" team...we're still small, but between myself and Ken, we're hoping to get a few good rides in and you'd be welcome to join us. What sort of riding do you do? Road? Mountain Bike?
Right now I'm on the east end of the heart of Whyte Ave, but I ride out to Terwillegar Park on the mountain bike on a regular basis and out to Terwillegar and the Henday on the CX bike too.
Perhaps we can meet up and do a little training...what sort of riding do you usually do?
Hey Mike, I pretty much a road biker, but have now got a Hybrid bike - (I think that is what they call them). For training, me and my wife have started taking my son to school on our bikes (about 20km a day).
Meeting up for a longer ride sounds great, but I may not be able to this weekend...I'm doing a lot of riding, but more on the commuting side (volunteering, meeting up with the widow of the man I'm riding in memory of and then heading out to Sherwood Park to meet the man who's name is on my mountain bike). Perhaps we could try for next weekend, depending on your schedule.
