I'm just wondering is it a must that we have to raise $2500 in order to partisapate in the event? I have been very very busy lately and I haven't met my goal yet.. Do I still get to ride?
Hey.. I am in the same boat.. What do we tell the people who have already donated to us? Sorry, but I am not riding. Isn't any amount of money raised another donation towards the Alberta Cancer Foundation?
I agree but I guess it must be their way off keeping things under control for the amount of riders??? Give them a call and see what they say. Or just start hitting up everyone hard with the need or you can't ride.
The donations still count and people still get their tax receipts for their contributions... but to keep the number of riders manageable, they put in the minimum to ride. I know some other local charity rides, where there aren't the same sort of minimums, get absolutely swamped with riders...to the point where it is a logistical heck to try to support them all for even just a 1-day ride.
I just gave them a call and They said yes, You have to raise a minimum of $2500 BUT, you could apply for a delayed self-donation. Which basicly gives you an extra 60 days after the event to continue fundraising and either meet the fundraising minimum or diminish the balance that you owe...
Stan I appied for the delayed donation to get to my $2500 .. because I was already there it just hadn't been all applied to my account ... cheques take awhile .. so I thought it was the best way to go!!! Good luck and I hope to see you at the finish line!!!!
You can do it Stan!! I have made it!! I still have a cheque that is made out to the Ride so I can take that on Saturday and add it there right? Without the cheque I don't have my minimum, but with it I am all good!
