Which bike should I use?

Hi , everyone . I need some advice.  I'm stuck. I have 2 bikes prepared for the ride. one is a Dirt jumping MTB 8 speed .  one is a Old Old road bike converted into single speed..

Which one?
Multi -Gear  VS single Gear.
Half ton  VS feather light.

They both have slick tires. 
Which one should I use?

Good question, I am using an old old 10 speed that weighs a ton and i thought loading bags on it would be nice added weight.    Which one do you feel more comfortable on

I decided to use The Old old Road bike , It's a 1965 raliegh.

Oh!! Toyota I saw you come into camp on the first night. Good on ya! There were a few interesting rides out there....a Surly Pugsly with its massive tires, several tandems and recumbents, SS bikes, full suspension mountain bikes all the way up to full carbon race bikes.

It was a great ride, but I saw a lot more action on the sweeps on the second day...the hills were brutal for some riders...and I think some of their rides didn't help.
