Hope you all enjoyed the weekend as much as I did. It was very inspirational, although very challenging. During this week-end we lost a black hydration back pack on the last pit stop before the finish line on Sunday. It contains I.D., cellphone and camera. On the shuttle back to Edmonton on Sunday my saddle bags were picked up in error. These contain my ride jersey, cell phone and 3 gaurdian angels that are very important to me plus rain gear and tools. I would appreciate if these items were found if you could please call 780-651-0767 or 780-418-7874 and if no answer leave mesage. Thanks a million.
Did you try calling the Ride office about the hydration pack? Someone may have turned it in to lost and found, or the clean-up crew may have found it when they were tearing down the pit stop at the end of the day.
I think we're a pretty honest bunch. I misplaced my gloves at camp and found them waiting for me at the lost and found the next morning. The girl working the info tent said someone turned in a lost ipod, which the owner recovered, so I'm sure you'll get your items back if they were found.
I hae checked with both the Calgary and The Edmonton office and so far no luck, hoping someone sees this and calls because both numbers that are listed as contact number are the two cell phones that are dead now.
I hope you get your items back... as a group I was pleasantly surprised at the honesty... when we were leaving on day one someone lost their phone, money and something else and they were announcing that it was found... at the 3rd pit stop on day one I had volunteers asking me if I had misplaced $100 and a cell phone.. so I think your chances are pretty good if they know that there is a message board and they read it that you will get it back!!! Remember to keep trying the office and reminding everyone that you talk to that if someone calls in with your stuff to contact you!!! Miscommunication would be the biggest problem with the ride that I found .. no one was 100% sure of what was happening where. Good luck!!
I am really hoping that we were all there with honest hearts, it was a charity event, I am a single mom and it took many extra shifts to get together all the gear we needed for the ride, but you do what you have to do for such a worthwhile cause, my sister who lost her hydration pack is a 21 month suvivor of 4th stage colon cancer so she did the ride in order to give back for what she received, I know our hearts were in the right place and I am sure that all who took part are of the same. The problem for sure is communication.
