Who Needs a Bike?

I have a spare Aluminum Road Bike (Divinci) that I am willing to loan out to anyone participating in the ride.  You could have it from now until after the ride.  It is size large which I am going to guess is about a 56-57.  Bonus it has a three chain ring set up to assist you with those hills at the end of day one.

Hi there,
i'm desparate for a bike!
Have a mountain bike, which is way too heavy and my boss gave me her old road bike, but it needs way too much work. i'm a five foot four inch woman, would your bike be too big for me?
Please let me know asap. ps i'm in calgary, where are you?

Dina,
Did we meet at the media event in Oct?  I have a hybrid that isn't the lightest bike in the world but it has slicks I am looking at selling it... it is an Ironhorse Adventurer... 17.5 .... feel free to call me if you would like to look at it...

yes, a 56-57cm bike would be way too big for you. you are probably closer to a 50-52cm sized bike.

How much / what kind of work does that road bike need?  I can devote some time to doing some work on it if you need.  Reply back here if want.

Hi and thank you for your offer!
The old road bike basically needs everything...gear cables, chain, tires, i don't know about brakes.
I thought about having it all done at my local bike shop, but they're booked solid for weeks.
It would be great if you can help, but I totally understand if you can't...if was just so nice of you to even consider helpingsmile

Hi Dina,
Im not trying to hijack CP's offer to you or anything like that. If you need a bike to borrow for the ride my wife would be willing to lend hers out. Its no road bike, its a mountian bike thats only been ridden once. Its brand new.
The offers there if you like.

Anyway, my friend has offered to lend me her bike, so i think I'll use hers (if it fits) cause it's super light! You guys should come for a ride to Bragg Creek Saturday, it posted on the Training Page.

no worries Dina!!
Sorry cant make it for that training ride Im coming up to Edmonton to sell some Cancer Crusader Tube Steak. I had it planned to ride last weekend but got snowed out.
Hope you guys have fun!! Im not sure how many training rides are left but we should do the Chestermere canals 50k or like airdrie to chestermere. Both are a good ride!!

Sorry didnt check soon enough. Got back @ 7 pm. I opted for the Sunday shift as it was to work out the best. I didnt end up having to come up a day early for work so that was ok.
We sold quite a few tube steaks and drinks etc...the day I would say was a success.

I am up and eager for a chestermere ride... I am thinking that ogden to chestermere ... or ingelwood to chesteremere,,,, the ingelwood to chestermere ride is about 53K... that is return... sorry lost my caps key...lol... let me know ... I would love to do a good ride...

Saturday was great ... I met Annette, Michelle, Matt and Jen ... and of course Mike popped in for a bit!  I got tunnel vision on the way home and ran out of gas .. but it was great!!!  See I know why my other vechile is a bike ... don't have to add gas... lol...
