Hehehe....there are folks from all over the spectrum on the Ride. The hard core folks are looking forward to killing the hills...the weekend warriors are hoping not to be killed by the hills. :)
Well Mike as usual I drove the ride route and guess what not far out of Okotoks we get to do a hill very simular to the Longview hill ... not as long but defenitely a sharp incline... it dips into the same valley that the Longview hill does ... other than that it looks like a sweet route ... remember when we left Okotoks we turned left on to HWY #7 well now we just keep going ... so we lose the flat parts between Okotoks and Nanton but we lose the hills between Nanton and Chain Lakes .... I have my fingers crossed that I am riding at all! I was in a car accident on May 6th and the dr's and Chiroprator are saying slim chance in hell ... but you know me .. I am riding even if I can't ride the whole thing!!! and my goal this year was no sweeps ... grrrr
After completing Day 1 last year it just made me realize that much more that those end of day hills were some VERY short term pain and served a blasting realization that it's nothing compared to the different situations people that have heard those nasty words "You have Cancer" endure. Hard yes but very motivating when thinking about the reasons why we have all joined together to eradicate all cancers!!!
Glad to hear my granny ring will be useful :) I think the last stretch on Day 1 last year caught a lot of folks who don't ride down there on a regular basis a bit off guard. I know here I've got nothing of that intensity I can use to train with...
