I don't think they have a specific format or protocol for approaching folks for sponsorships. As far as I know, teams generally end up doing their own letters in approaching potential sponsors. I know the Ride will let you use the logos and event information as part of your promotion, but I know you cannot promise anything outside of your team too (I.e. no promising large scale advertising at the event).
