Meet and Greet?

Hi there,

I notice on the calendar that Edmonton has a meet and greet event. Is anyone interested in doing a similar thing in Calgary? My dad was recently diagnosed with multiple myeloma and I've moved back to Calgary to help my mom out. So I'm new in town, living with my parents for the first time in years haha, and wouldn't mind meeting some new people as well as hearing other people's stories about cancer.

Please post if interested and hopefully we can arrange something smile

I think that is a wonderful idea!  I am sorry to hear about your dad!  But that is why we are all riding... to stop this cycle of losing the ones we love!   Contact the ride office and get them to set up a meet and greet here in Calgary.  They are really good at that kind of thing

We'd be in, if it fits into our schedule. My husband is on the motorcycle crew and tries to get out to all the events (I'm taking the kids to all their stuff).

Welcome back to calgary, sorry for the reason. Cancer is horrible, I've lost all my grandparents to it and my Father in law.

I'd definitely recommend contacting the ride office, you could possibly talk to Lisa Then - she was the crew coordinator last year but I think is now the logistics coordinator (she's awesome).

Do you have anyone to train with??  I am riding with a large team but they are all in Lethbridge and I don't get down there very often - that leaves me training here by myself because I don't really know anyone.  Let me know if you would like a training buddy!  And yes I would very much like a meet and greet :)  I moved back to Calgary 4 years ago and I am slowly finding a new circle of friends - just haven't found any cyclists in my crowd!

Hi NHart,

I am captain of the One Aim team, a team of every kind of rider that you can imagine from cancer researchers, cancer physicians, cancer survivors...to every other kind of "indignat objector" to cancer that you can imagine!  We have a very active training and social group.  Our team motto is "All shapes, all sizes and all ages" Last year we had the first riders into camp on Day 1 and the last into the finish on Day 2...we are truely diverse!

We have four training rides per week (Tuesday evening, Thursday evening, Saturday daytimer and Sunday morning).

You can find out all about us at : www.oneaim.ca

We are an open team and are a very welcoming bunch.  We have 76 riders for 2012 (and are still growing)...so you could instantly have 76 friends on the road and in camp!  We still have a dozen rides between now and the main event for you to meet some potential team-mates.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Kind regards,

Nigel Brockton

NHart - great idea, not sure why it wasn't brought up yet. There sure are a lot of participants so it might require a huge venue though, unless it was just smaller groups heading out for a breakfast or something.

It's difficult to explain precisely how wow both superstars are simply due to exactly how seriously these people fall under their own figures. Teller provides an enjoyable, irrepressible appeal which links you to definitely Sutter within both gentle occasions and also the darkish, as well as Woodley has the capacity to perform exactly the same giving Aimee an ideal mixture of purity as well as power. Each tend to be tossed a few seriously psychological moments, however their own entertainers tend to be totally unseen, and also you can't assist however simply really feel drawn within as well as committed to all of them. It might additionally be considered a terrible error as well as the actual brief-but-terrific helping becomes through Jennifer Jerr Leigh, Kyle Chandler, as well as Jane At the Winstead, however there's absolutely no denying that the actual standouts actually are.
