How are they paired up? I'm assuming the first match is gender, and after that it is random???

I had a random tent assignment last year.

they keep riders with riders and crew with crew - crew usually have an earlier start than the riders.

I had to be up last year for a 4am wakeup call (foodservice tent), tentmate had a 6am call (she was on the road crew).

its quite a rush to click that random button - you have NO idea who you'll be paired with.


I'm looking for someone to share tent with this year too - I'm on the crew, but no idea where yet.


but yeah...bring earplugs - 2000 people in tents in a small space is quite noisy.
